Don’t miss out on all the treasures that South Tacoma has to offer with this open floor plan craftsman home on a large lot!

  • Offered for $225,000
  • Three bedrooms + full bath
  • New carpet and exterior paint in 2017
  • Roof replaced in 2015
  • New furnace & water heater in 2014
  • 6,000 square foot lot

The covered front porch opens into the open concept kitchen and living room. A modern kitchen remodel was done about 3 years ago, successfully blending old world charm with more functional updates, like the granite counters and gas stove. There’s lots of counter space in here — use it for baking cookies, entertaining or a quick morning breakfast. A quaint kitchen nook is perfect for sit down meals and overlooks the backyard and deck.

The fully fenced backyard feels private and has secure parking space for a boat or RV. There’s plenty of room for outdoor entertaining on the deck and a detached one-car garage. Through the mud room you can access the unfinished basement, which offers 500+ sq ft in the basement for additional storage. Upstairs is the third bedroom which could make a great master suite!

Local Tacomans know that South Tacoma Way is where one goes to eat tasty food, listen to good music and shop for a great deal!

From South 48th to 56th  you find all kinds of funky jazz lounges and dive bars like The Mule Tavern and The Airport, plus small businesses like PolyRev, a variety of music venues and family-owned restaurants full of authentic flavors like Cho Dang Tofu (for the yummiest Korean BBQ dishes & Bibimbap). Other local favorites include Olympus Day Spa (women only!) or Treat Your Feet Spa, and the B&I Public Marketplace.

For a change of pace, you can walk the dog through the beautiful trees at recently updated South Park, with its new play ground and splash pad, or spin your wheels on the ever expanding Water Flume Trail (read more about plans for that here!)

South Tacoma is home to one of the city’s most intact historic commercial business districts and has transformed many times over since the early 1800’s. Many buildings that were erected in the 1920’s are still standing and are home to some fantastic local businesses. Tortas Locas, known for their affordable prices, laid back vibe and “Big Mexican Sandwiches”, was originally built in 1928 by T. K. J. Williamson for Zachary A. Vane of  Vane & Company and used for spaces to house Pacific Savings & Loan Association, Standard Finance Company, and jeweler B. W. Andrews. The upper floor was an apartment until after World War II when it became additional office space. Although the stone building has been painted, it still shows traces of its original style. The keystones with an engraved “V”, are still intact, muted slightly by layers of paint.
